pls help!!!!
Mu 91 4jb1 has no power and blow too much smoke and the dash indicator of the overdrive is always lighted on and cannot be shut off. I think she runs only on a speed of 20 and 1st gear only . a mechanic told me that there is a missing spare part located somewhere on the injection side. the said part is connected to a connector with a wire. i don't have an idea or seen in this spare part. i hope someboby out there can help me Thnx.

Im assuming its an auto trans. This sounds like a bad computer or sensor fault. I would check the cables that connect to the gearbox and unplug and reconect them 2 or 3 times to clean the contacts Hopfully this will fix the overdrive light. The smoke could be many things but I would pick on the wire that goes from the injector pump to a sensor on the thermostat housing This sensor is the one on the same side as the air con pump disconnect this wire and you get similar symptoms to what you describe. Also it could be a fault in the injectors themselves which are best left to a competant diesel mechanic

Black smoke = incomplete combustion. Which could be overfueling as geeves mentions (injector problems), or lack of oxygen.
Is the air filter clean/new/clogged?

all filter are new. As the mechanic told me that there is a missing sparepart and it is located near the injection side.and the mechanic said this part maybe is for the use of auto trans.is somebody has a manual of 4jb1 engine (2.8)so i can see what is this missing part.thnx

first thing I would do is sack your mechanic...
doesnt sound like he knows what hes doing... Find someone that knows their way around a motor before you do some real damage to the engine.
