Could anyone give full details how to change the fuel filter in an MU 3.1. The handbook doesn't mention it apart from changing it every 40,000kms or 2 years (page 166) things like dismantling, priming, probs. etc - Thanks - Be gentle it's my first diesel!

Gday mate, nice to see you still have the MU. with my fuel filter I disconnected the lines unbolted the whole unit as there was no way I was just going to unscrew the filter off, locked it in a vice and unscrewed it. Then installation was the reverse proceedure. Once installed use the top pump button to prime it, normally a good few pushes and you can hear the diesel draw through and out the bleed screw, tighten it up and your done. I'll check the Frontera manual later and see if that has an accurate description for the 2.8 as they are virtually the same. J
