First you need to have the wireing diagram or even better the instructions for the unit. basicaly either black or green will be earth one will be a permanant battery one will sit across the ignition feed. one might sit across the aux feed. The other wires might go to various optional sensors that allow the turbo timer to work out how long it needs to be on for. The tube is a guess but this might be plumbed into the intake so the timer knows how much boost is being used.

Mine came with one, but I can't legally use it.
Plus I only rarely use it so I think it's a bit of a pointless exercise personally, but that's just my opinion.
I do have a Jaycar kit turbo timer that I built in my youth, ended up selling the car before I installed it, so it's just sitting in storage now. A shame you aren't local!
AFAIK, all turbo timers will do the basics, so installation should be identical (wire colours excepted) if all you want is something to keep the engine running for a perioud of time that you choose. If you can install a car radio, then I'm sure you could install a turbo timer (I've done a few radios, but no TTs) just be shore that it doesn't short anything out when you connect or operate it.
Cheers, Graham.

I just installed my turbo timber. it was like $80 total. has 2 timer setting and volt. pen style. works alright but my alarm system doesn't like it going for more than a minute.
AS far as wiring goes, at least 1 earth, 1 kill switch usually on hand brake, 1 power, and one to the ignition wire, (not the starter motor) (i did that mistake)
-check that ur alarm will work with it is all i found out.

Does a Turbo Timer posses any benifits other then not having to sit in your car for a minute while it cools?

It will make your turbo last longer but so will manualy idling it down. The good book for our wagons says that less than 80kph = no need to idle down anything else up to 120kph = 1 min towing hills or high speeds = 3 min.

I'm pretty sure that in NSW it's illegal to leave your car running and just wandering off from it, but I've never heard of anyone having any problems with police for using their TT. Cheers, Graham.
