My 93 jackaroo diesel has almost no power at all if the engine warm up button in left on . Power comes back if left till the engine cools down or overnight. I was told it could be associated with the e.g.r. valve. MAX SPEED IS ABOUT 50 K but as i say everything is back to normal next morning and as the button can be accidently switched on it may cause big problems if out bush CAN ANYONE HELP PLEASE?

Don't use the engine warm up button while driving, it does have that affect. Something about advancing the pump timing too much, I don't know. Search through this forum as it has been discussed before and some information is on here somewhere.
Cheers, Graham.

Turbo on way out or engine siezing. Hope neither of these are the cause Try blocking the Egr and see if this helps What is oil pressure and water temp like Any noises The fast warm up device is disabled when the water excedes 30C but could be faulty. If you remove the vacum hose to the warm up device on the exhaust (block the end of the hose or you have no brakes) And see if this helps or makes worse. The warm up device has 2 functions Advances timing and restricts exhaust. I dont know how well it works In Wellington it hasnt got cold enough in the last 10 years to try it
