HI
Just wondering if anyone can help with a problem i am having with my vechile`s air conditioning. My vechile is a 1994 Lotus Bighorn 3.1Turbo Diesel, automatic.
Over the last few weeks sice having the vechile serviced, i have noticed that when i turn on the air conditioning i there is a pulsing sound which can be heard inside and outside the vechile. The needle on the rev counter also goes up and down with the sound of the pulse.
This fault also seems to be intermittent and of course when the a/c is turned off the sound goes.
I would be grateful for and advice.
Thanks
PAUL

I have no idea what the problem is but my 94 MU does the same thing. It's the clutch on the A/C coming in and out too often!! but why??

Hey just a thought with the Aircon, if the clutch is cycling too often, it could be a few things. Low pressure, High pressure or the thermistor rooted.
If the Aircon hasnt been serviced lately I would doubt the high pressure cutout but very could be the low pressure cutting the compressor out. Otherwise the thermistor in these can be dodgy. You could bypass the thermistor for a few minutes to see if the cycling still occurs and if so then its a pressure prob, not thermistor.
If the bypass works, dont leave it that way, the condensor will just freeze up and the system will not work anyway. You would have to continuously keep switching the aircon on and off to regulate the temp, not fun!
Hope that helps...Matt.
