My 99 Isuzu Mu has a faulty fuel guage, when you fill the tank it reads just half full. To diagnose the fault would i be best taking this vehicle to an auto-electrician or a mechanic?

Sparky. Its probably a bad connection to the tank sender so you could try pluging and unpluging a couple of times. This is on the front edge of the tank and easy to get at. If its not this it could be a faulty sender or float on the sender or gauge. Most likly just needs a clean. Not hard but can be messy if you dont know how much fuel is in there. When I replaced mine I filled the tank then drove 500km so I knew the level was low enough.(Mine had a broken winding so only indicated the top quarter of the tank The bottom 3/4 read as empty)
