Hiya. I have two questions. Firstly, I have a 96 Isuzu Mu, auto. As of just two days ago my power windows stopped working. (They were perfectly fine prior) First the passenger front decided not to go down and then closely followed the drivers side refusing to go up. They just appear to be dead? ? Now the second, my husband has a 94 Isuzu Mu, manual, which has been playing games as of late with the indicators. Kept blowing the fuses. Now, fuse is still intact but no indicators and hazard lights are gone too. Any advice here would be greatly appreciated as I'm not looking forward to the prospect of having to take both our vehicles to an auto electrician. If this is the case though, do you guys know of any good auto electricians who don't charge the earth up in Whangarei??? Thanks.

The windows will be the switches 9 times out of 10. If your lucky you can clean them if not sit down before asking the price of new ones. Second hand still cost the earth and may be no better than the ones you have. Should be easy to diagnose with a multimeter. Indicators This is strange. I think this is only the 3rd time it has come up and yours was one day after the second one. Look at the wireing in the steering colum and under the dashboard first

As far as the windows are concerned, use the elimination process first. If the passenger switch works and the drivers one for the same window doesn't, or vice versa, then suspect the switches. In the case of the drivers console, I have cannabalised passenger switches in the past. From memory, for a Bighorn, wreckers will charge $400 for a drivers switch assembly and $40 for a passenger one. Hence the need to cannabalise.

what about a local club member meeting up with you and providing a donor switch to localise the problem. a two minute job over a coffee.
