Hi all, I happily own a LWB 2.8 Bighorn 1989. My power windows stopped working from their own switches. I can raise/lower all the windows from the driver's commands. There is lock button that blocks the switches located on the other doors but it is not activated. The fuse for power windows is working. Any ideas? Its anoying to have to open/close each passenger's window

First thought is the switches but this normaly shows on one window at a time. Both the master and slave switches are change over so a dirty contact in either may stop either switch from working. (please dont ask how many hours it took to work this one out) As all are not working you need to check voltages at the door switches and work from there

"There is lock button that blocks the switches located on the other doors but it is not activated"
But it can be faulty so I will check lock button firstly

any ideas where to get a new switch from, my 89 LWB passengers side window stopped working from both drivers and passengers switch. Passengers switch looks ok but could be stuffed. I can wind it up and down by jumpering 2 sets of connections on the door plug. Alan, from what you were saying it could be just the drivers switch being faulty that stops both from working??? think this is more like it as the drivers switch was dodgy for a while before it failed.

Holden dealer can get new switches but you wont like the price. Wreckers could be worth a go but you might get one that lasts a week. I had a go at sourcing a switch from electronics places but failed as a momentary changeover 2 pole does not seem to exist. Some Landcruisers and Surfs have a switch that looks the same I havnt checked further It could be worth a try. Try dismatling your switch and cleaning the contacts The contacts dont come out of the housing so the cleaning is fiddly. I have to do one of mine about every 2 years. To prove if its the drivers door switch or passenger switch swap the passenger swicth into anouther door.

i now have a couple of spare switches as i got a full set from a wrecking bighorn, so if anyone really needs one then let me know. could sell you a passengers one but not too keen to sell the drivers one as i will probably need it one day.
