Hi all,
A continuation of my earlier post:
My flatmate a mechanic ordered me in a thermostat before I had a chance to say OEM please. Anyway I installed it and it seems no bettter than the last, sigh.
This morning is a luke warm heater again, low engine temp and the radiator is warm. That is it's is passsing water when cold.
So what am I doing wrong here? I know OEM was suggested by why should this be differant for a brand new one? Then the more tricky question can anyone describe it's operation in detail. It seems to me to have two valves. One is smaller and mates downwards onto a valve face for the smaller block hoses. The thing is I noticed when I hot water tested the "faulty" one this valve CLOSED when it got hot. This seems back to front to me? Can anyone confirm this?

The one I used was a Tridon brand I dont remember a second valve in either the old or new one. These small hoses could be the oil cooler so this could be correct as it would only allow water down these pipes once warm This would mean the oil would heat faster
