I have put new brakepads on the rear of my 95 trooper and now the wheels will not turn. The callipers are rubbing on the inside of the rim. They are a 15 inch rim with a 23 offset. Is this the correct offset for a 95 Trooper?

does the 95 have the separate handbrake drum or does the handbrake share the disk. If its the model with the internal drum handbrake there is only a couple of steel 15 inch rims that fit and no 15 inch mags

Can't be catching by much if all you've done is change the pads.Might get away with a LIGHT rub on the point on the caliper where it's touching with a file or angle grinder. No responsibility accepted for cockups. Good luck,Harry.

I can imagine some unscupulus mag wheel seller grinding the original pads just far enough to allow the new wheels to fit Theres about 8mm differance between new and old pads which would be far too much to grind off either rim or calliper. Best fix would be 16 inch wheels if its the later disc/drum setup

I have spoken to the place where I got the rims and they are a -15 offset which also fit Toyotas. I have been told by many that if it fits a Toyota then it wont fit an Isuzu. They are getting me some rims with a +7 offset which they will replace for free. It is a disk setup all round with the handbrake being a separate calliper.

Where are you? In NZ offset changes like that might leave you with Warrent of fitness problems. If you want mags then the only proper way to go is in a 16 inch rim but this means new tyres

You mean Hilux solid axle offset as opposed to IFS offset Solid axle offset is something like -22 or -25, which is as much as is commonly made for anything. This WILL (assuming your WOF guy is doing his job in accordance with the rules: +/-25mm of factory spec. width between wheel centrelines) require certification due to track width change on your Isuzu, and will also probably require flares. I have heard that they may be changing the +/- 25mm to +/- 50mm before needing L V V certification in New Zealand. I think that the NZHA and others lobbied the powers that be and a change is in the pipeline. There must be a heap of 4wds in New Zealand that are fitted with 8" wide white spoke rims that technically make them illegal and therefore have no insurance. When I fitted 8" rims to my Mu I had to have it certified (L V V) to get a WOF. There's some money down the toilet if they change the rules.
