Ive got a spare set of leaf springs for the rear of my sagged mu, and thinking of unpacking one set and adding another leaf or two, to the bring the height back and maybe 2 more inch's would be nice! Its about an inch lower than the front at the mo. I know the best thing would be H/D rodeo ones but $$ make it hard. So any ideas? Has anyone done this would be keen to here?

I haven't done one before but i was thinking of 1/2 unrolling the eyes of a spare top leaf to make a military wrap.this would stiffen the spring and provide support if the top leaf breaks. Harry.

It has been done before but can cause stiffness which is not good off road. Also you will need longer u bolts to go over the spring pack. Ingham springs in Lower hut can reset your springs but quite often reset springs sag quite quickly

hi daisy have too agree with alan on this one coz i had mine reset but within a month they had settled back too there saggy baggy ways i didn't want to respend on the same prob so instead i opted for the 2.5"extended snake racing shackles & have'nt looked back since!. now its lifted & saggy.he-he-he hope this is of help? or you can just get them made yourself.

Thanks muvit madness. does that mean your shackels are 2.5" longer pin to pin than standard? if so how much lift did u get? ive been thinking about taking the top leaf out of the spare packs and cutting the eyes off and making them alittle shorter and use the military wrap for the top three leafs and making up some drop shackels? no design plans yet.

sounds like a plan but i'd probably do the shackles 1st. mine was 2.5+the o.e.m around 5" in total doin the millitary wrap will hinder articulation me thinks ???but in saying that it depends what sort of stuff you do? i.e lots of towing, road driving & not much offroading? wrap is good. but if your like me (weekend warrior), then i"d go for shackels+saggy-baggy ROFL ;D i've even opened up my shackel clamps on the leafs to hang the diff more allowing more droop down but thats just my 2cents worth.

In the last 12 months Ive seen 3 sets of springs that have bent severly at the eye (one was Pajero) Militury wrap reduces the liklyness of this happening. There is 3 types of military wrap 1:second spring tightly wound around the eye This could reduce travel 2:second spring has large eye and can move relitive to the main spring 3: second spring only wraps half way round The second two types dont affect articulation What effect there is is frequently less than the improvment of new springs
