Hey all. I went in for my '93 MU's first wheel alignment today... They had it for about half an hour, I thought it was all going well. Then they come up and tell me that the adjustment points are seized, and they could not get them free, after trying various methods. They just said that it's been off-roading, maybe in salt water (i've never taken it to the beach), and that they could only do a few little adjustments, so it's still not properly aligned. I did not ask them exactly what had seized, because I was shocked & worried about the MU, and just in a hury. Silly mistake. Any thing I can do to free them up? Would a ball joint flip help? Or should I just wait for the Solid Axle Thanks Andy

Are they talking about the tow in adjustment or the camber/castor? The tow in is adjusted by the tie rods which could easily be replaced from a local wrecker (try http://www.4x4isuzu) if needed. The other adjustments require shims which are held in place by 2 large bolts that are torqued to about 120 foot pound. I would be suprised if these have siezed. I would get a second opinion If I was you before paying the bill

If it's the camber, those bolts may have been tightened to 120 lb but it took a strong bar and a metre of pipe to get them undone.I though they would break but they did let go with a hell of a bang. If it's the tie rods try hitting each flat on the hex with another hammer opposite. This will normally break any rust loose.Remember there's 2 lots on each rod, lh and rh threads. You may find it easier to pop the ball joints and do the job in a vise. Regards,Harry.

1 meter of pipe?? your a lot stronger than me. I had 3 meters on mine and bent my solid socket lever at the same time. If the bolts do break the part they bolt to is replacable luckily. On mine the bushes failed a Wof and when the mech replaced them he also replaced this part due to rust. About $80 a side for this spindle.

Went back there today, they said it was a bolt on the tie rod that they couldn't undo. When i go to IsuzuTruckBits, i'll ask them about some new tie rods.
Thanks
