I have seen a pic of a Mu with only a dinner plates worth of roof showing above water. It wasnt swimming any more but 2 winches got it out and a little roadside tlc got it running again and driven home. No motor issues showed up in the following year.

I wasnt there but the official story was he was going back and forwards in the stream to wash the underside and reversed into a hole he didnt know was there. It was also noted that the passenger window was the only one open but the driver got out first.

Before tackleing water that deep know where your air intake is! The person I know was lucky he did have water in the cylinders A v8 jeep that went out with us had the intake in the grill and although the water was less that knee deep it had a steep aproach result 2 broken rods and the configeration of the car meant the engine had to be running to have useable brakes and steering for the 20km trip to the road end total cost 12000 He doesnt own a jeep any more

A good thing to watch out for is mud stuck around the door frame. In the wrong place it holds the rubber seal on the door away from the frame. Car fills up real quick
