Hi all,
On the dashboard of My 93 MU there is a seatbelt warning light that has come on and wont go off...
Any ideas why, or how to fix?
Thanks. Adrian.

Hi Team,Adrian check the area at the anchor point of the drivers seatbelt stalk as there must be a mechanisim there which swiches the dashboard warning lamp off when the drivers belt is clicked in.It possibly needs adjusting.Good luck. ciao !

Right track but theres a little more to it in that it could be any seat (more likely front) Do all the belts up and the light should go out then undo them one at a time untill the light comes on identifing the faulty seat . If the light stays on then it is the wiring in one of the seat belts itself which could mean seat belt replacment or bulb removal

hmm, I've only ever seen the drivers seat hooked up to any seat belt warning light - I cant remember the car but there was an electrical cable under the drivers seat with a simple plug that you could easily undo. I undid it and found that it caused the same symptoms that Adrian mentions. I'd start under the drivers seat and work outwards from there L8r, G.

Thanks for all the input guys,
Found the problem. There is a wire bolted under the drivers seatbelt anchor point. I have disconected it as I know when I have my seatbelt on and when it is not without a light flashing at me.
Thanks again. Adrian.

You are getting water in the alternator causeing no charge. As long as the lights go out afterwards and its water not mud its no real drama but if you get mud in there clean it out thoughorly ASAP Several people have tryed hoseing it in place with varying results but to remove and replace will take 2 - 3 hours and a recon could be over 500.

If the lights stay on after a dunking, I agree with Alan - get it out quik and replace. The original Hitachi LR150 alternators have a bit of a reputation for dying. If that is the case you can get it recon'd or Truck bits in Auckland do a reasonable deal for a new replacement unit. All the lights coming on can be intermittent as was the case with mine. After replacing the brushes and then the Charge Relay it still happened on and off and then gave up and replaced the alternator.
