Have finslly sold the boat so I,m looking at replacing my mud tyres.I've read the write up in the auzzie 4wd mag but first choice was simex jungle trekkers, until I priced them.$470 each.Next was bfg,$400 each.2nd on the test list was the cooper discoverer stt.I havn't priced them yet but I did get on to some cooper durango at $290 each.Has anyone had any experience with these or heard anything about them. Thanx,Harry

What size are you looking at because that BFG price is high. Simex are the best in mud only beeten by chains but they are not road freindly My boss just bought some 33 inch durangos at about 2/3 that price from the supplier (not fitted)if you want Ill get some info A few members of other wn club members use them and seem happy enough with them They are a general purpose mud similar to the BFG etc Firestone still have there 23 ATX on special but I think 31 inch is max size Another option if this is your rough truck would be retread SAT copys from T. K. Retreading Ltd 65 Armstrong St Palmerston North Ph 06 353 1972 They will put this on radial casings and works out very cheap with all the features of the SAT ie excellent grip in mud none on the road cant here the radio etc The one person I know running them on an 80 cruiser is happy and getting good wear

This cant be divulged here or anywhere for obvious reasons. Also That price wasnt even available to me. Sorry cant help more Alan
