Does anyone know the best position to mount roof racks on a Mu? Is the back half of the roof strong enough to hold a load, or would it be best to mount them over the front half only? And which would be the best mounting system? Gutterless? Track mounting? I'm looking at these Rhino Roof Racks: www.rhinorack.com.au/sports.aspCheers Daniel

I have the Rhino track mount system with a bar front & back. We have a 50Kg roof top tent on them, you will not have a problem. We are agents for Rolla all but identical if you need a price to keep the local supplier honest just PM me.

I've got a track mount as well. Bit of a bastard as you have to rivet the tracks too the roof. I've got one set about a foot long on the front half and one set same lenght on the back half. I carry a steel roof cage and tools on top and hav'nt had any pbobs (yet!)

Hi Daniel You've probably already got your racks, but if not, and if anyone else was interested, there is a newish type of magnetic fix racks, but only good to 25kg load. Can be seen on www.magneticroofracks.com.auCheers Ian

Yellow Mu I fitted the RhinoSportz removeable RSF - 4 rivet-on feet to the roof and a 90kg rating on the bars. Bars attach with a single bolt either side (front and rear), are elliptical in section for quieter airflow, and internally reinforced with box section, many different accessories available to carry a variety of different loads.
Im using it to carry a 5m canoe (55kg) and have fitted a plug-in "T-bar" to the bull bar to support the nose of the canoe (also mounts the UHF antenna)

I just fitted factory wizerd roof bars to my Mu very easy to do. got them from the wreckers yard ($35NZ), (suzki or mitzi ones should also fit) Just mount them infront of the forward roof strut & behind the rear roof strut Not pretty but will work, just add plenty of rust guard & some sealant.

here is my setup for my MU .. it's probably similar to Nemesis' set up ..Sportz RSF Rhino racks .. I usually carry a 6 foot and an 8 foot ladder on my racks( approx. 30 kgs) for work ..
