Hi there, I'm looking at buying a 94 SWB Bighorn 3.1itd. I no the service history because it's my dads truck. But I won't to do a 2" suspention lift and 2" body lift. Do they have any trouble with the rear trailing arms? They seem a weak link in the setup. Looks like they would get hit as they hang down. Plus the truck is auto, can you do a body lift with the autos.
With this in mind and reading the other posts, should I just find a man MU as they seem better to do these 2 mods. Any help would be of great value. Thanks.

The rear trailing arms can be bent but Darlington off road make a stronger and better shaped replacement. Those lift options work equaly well on mus and bighorns. The bighorn has a slightly wider track and rear coils which can make for better articulation but the mu is slightly shorter which makes up for it

Do the front cv's suffer much after doing a 2" lift and is it easy to do a auto to man swap. Does the box out of a earlier bighorn fit?

The 3.1 bighorn has longer shafts on the cvs than the mu so the angles are a lot kinder. Never heard of a bighorn breaking a cv but it probably has happened somewhere

Thanks for all your help. Want to run 32" tyres instead of 33's. Less stress is always good. The 2 lifts will be first on my list then the exhaust, boost and fuel to match.
