Have a sticking handbrake (again)on my '93 MU The boys at TJM in Brissie have tried to fix it, but apparently I need new cables - from the calpiers to the main brake cable. They tried on older model Jackaroo cable but it didn't fit, so they have no idea what will fit now as the Jack cable was recommended by Holden. Anyone here know? Cheers MU-Stu

If the cables not broken or damaged you can probably get it working ok again. What normaly happens is the boots at the end of the cable break allowing water mud etc into the sheeth You need to remove the cable from the car and flush the inside of the cable with degreaser or kero then fill it with your favorite oil Let it soak in for a while then drain the surplus If you can get replacment boots then even better otherwise you will be redooing this every couple of years. The cable should now be free running thus fixing problem.

Stu, I have replaced mine with Jackaroo ones, SWB though! I measured them, told Rob at Jackaroo world and he sourced them for me!
Really not that hard at job at all! Goodluck Matt.

I've just overcome the same issue with my brakes - handbrake sticking on - turned out to be mud and gunk in the calipers. I had them reconditioned and they came up magnificently. $220AUD - no complaints from me.
