I know I have seen on the old posting information on the light that comes on at 100K so let you know that its time to change the belt. Info given was that there is a plug on the rear of the datsh that you swapped over.. well ( wait for it.. ) there isnt one on mine.. I have a 1994 XL MU 3.1 TD. Any ideas ? See picture for what the back of the dash looks like, if it rings any bells please let me know. www.clubisuzu.com/MU Dash XL.jpg[/img]

Nah Andrew there are no plugs, its just a case of swapping towo screws over!
My 93 has the screws labled CWS and the other is CCWS. If you pull the tape off the two bits either side of the speedo Im pretty sure they are under them.
One will have the screw in it and the other will have an empty spot just waiting for the screw to be put in. Simply remove it from one and place in the other.
Next 100k km you then swap them back!
Done it a few times now, twice on mine and one on my Brothers!!
Hope thats not as clear as mud!!

I must admit I thought mine said KWS and they were located where Matt said. It should basically be two screw holes with a faint white dotted line connecting them. Remove the screw from one and stick it in the other and the light goes out. J

Ha yeah now you mention it J, I think it was KWS, but as we both said, pretty easy when you know what you are looking for!!

Speaking of timing belts, my mech is having trouble finding Gates Part # T966, in fact he can't even find it in the gates manual he has....

It will either be a T966 or a T844, which is usually the case from late 93 onwards. When I changed my 94 MU, I got a T966, (which was what I had in my 2.8), only to find out that it was a T844 in it. (If I remember correctly the 966 has round teeth and the 844 has square ones). So I stuck the 966 in for a few weeks and then got a T844 and replaced it. I believe Yarno has an 844 in his 2.8 and his was the last of the run. So you need to look at the teeth and find out, really.
