Just a thought really - am not familiar at all with mus. They have different body shell but same motor and gearbox? as my 88swb bighorn through to about 1993. (I know later models also have coils springs.) Question is are there other significant changes in suspension, running gear, diffs etc between the two models - i.e. 87-90 bighorns and 90-93 mus? Motor from 87-88 bighorn = 90 - 93 mu The bighorns got a intercooler in 88ish 93 mu onwards to 97 got the same motor as the 92 - 97 bighorn minus the intercooler 98 onwards both share the 3.0 motor. gearboxes are the same not sure on diffs. The Mu is a lot shorter tan the bighorn so steering geometry will be differant although they do share a lot of parts in the suspension.

I have just measured my 88 swb bighorn wheelbase and it is about 2.315 meters centre front to centre rear wheel. Wonder how this compares with Mu - or lwb bighorn for that matter?
Have also been pricing 2.5" exhaust from the turbo down and can get this for about $245 here in Christchurch at Autobend, fitting cost extra - models with flexible joint in the pipe by the gearbox are about $82 more. Anyone know of anything cheaper here? - Mike A

My MU is 91" wheel base which is 2.311 metres pretty much the same as your swb Bighorn.....

Wow - that's interesting. My tape was wobbling a bit and read 2.310 to 2.315 meters, which means my swb bighorn has the seem wheelbase and probably chassis as the mu. This of course explains why your Mus go so well - they copied the bighorn which was already a great off-roader!! I may run for cover about now...Mike.
