Well im sure you probably know which one lost! I went up to Tunnel Creek and Bells gorge for the weekend, have a nice relaxing time with a group of people... and on the way home... BAM i thought i bent the tire rod hoped out to check i found i had busted a Shock and abliverated my rear tyre!!! so much for puncture resistant!!! stupit tyres!!! I though i would share the pics so at least someone could enjoy them... im not atm... Sorry looks like you are going to have to turn your monitor on its side ;D

ouch mmm looks bad, how did the shock get from its place to the outer wall of the tyre , even though the tyre has duragaurd puncture resistant side walls i think thats more for sticks rocks & mother nature. dont think any tyre is designed to stand upto a piece of steel being poked into its side wall especially a shock. just about shredded it tho. so your also up for another shock as well as a spare. you might have to look at ashleighs 35s when you come down btw like the signature. cheers muvit

sorry, I busted a front shock, (was bleeding all over the place) and blew the rear tyre, the two incidences were not connected... AND i also got a small leak in the front tyrre too!!!! just had that repaired, so im trying to frind a spare 33... with no luck

That looks like its gone from the inside as there is 2 separate points of seperation and no obvious external cause. If you havent been conbineing high speeds and low pressures you might be able to claim a new tyre from goodyear. Its worth a crack

i was running the tyres at 25psi, which isn't really low for 33's. but i think i will try and hit them up for another tyre!!

too low for open road speeds Heat build up and flex will kill tyres. Remember the flap about firestone tyres on ford exploders. The main problem was that ford had recomended a pressure of 27 when 36 would of been more realistic. These were a smaller tyre on a similar weight vehicle. I would still be running 30 at least. I bet someone will tell us that is still too low but my 31s wear evenly and slowly at 32

the wangler MTR's have a MAX psi of 35, i keep them around 30 on normal road and 15 in the bush, i don't think 25 is all that low... as i understant the bigger the tyre the lower the pressure needed, eg bike tyres are around 50 ish, low profile tyres on sports cars are anywhere above 35psi...

the wrangler mt/r's have a max pressure of 65 psi, we run them on our work trucks at 45 to 55 psi, from looking at the zippers you may find at 25 psi is a little low for the highway, you should be running at 32 to 38 psi and dropping to less off road, when you get it striped off you will probably see cracking round the shoulders inside, be interested in seeing pic off tyre bolge on your isuzu, i see it abit on trucks, they sort of do the same if running on low pressure for a length of time.

Mate. Gibb river road is no high way, it is a bush track that goes through the kimberly's. The Wangler MT/R's 33x12.5x15r have a max pressure of 35psi! (if you don't believe me see picture below) i don't have a clue about tyres in NZ but every MTR i've seen over here is max 35. so dropping them to 25 is not much at all, and it was running at 25psi for about 30min when the tyre busted.

I run my MTR's at 36, as thats what the tyre shop recommended. I don't even drop my pressures offroad so I don't put my tires at risk

Essentialy most of the 16s are 65psi the 31 and32 x 15 are 50 and the bigger tyres 35psi. Makes interesting reading. As for dropping pressures off road The only true reasons for doing this are traction and flotation. These are realy only an issue on mud sand, small gravel and some wet clays. Any other time here is no real advantage in lowering pressures although it can make for a nicer ride on a bumpy track. As long as you keep speeds down it doesnt cause damage but all the good books sugest a max speed of 30kph on low pressure tyres. We are probably all guilty of exceding this at times and every now and then we wont get away with it
