Hi guys Just a simple question....when I push the power button next to the handbrake the display lights up in the center of the dash telling me I'm in power mode. But when I have it on normal no display lights up. Judging by the manual (which is in japanese)this should also light up. Am I correct in assuming this. If so how do I check whether the power mode is indeed off if nothing indicates this on the dash.

All the power/normal mode is is a different setting in the auto trans giveing different change points. Best test is to chose a long empty straight road and accelerate at full throttle noteing the revs that it changes up Then do the same in the other mode The differance is about 500 rpm changing up at full noise but it does also affect downshifts and low throttle shifting.

On my Wizard its the same, but when I pulled a part my dashboard, was no indication of a plase where to put lightbulb. On isuzu Bighorne 1990 it was a bloun lightboulb coz this light stays on most of the time. Look youself or ask autosparky(I am one of them).

What model and year do you have. I have a 2.8 93 Mu. When I change to normal a light comes up on the dash. Same for power.

Amber you are correct.
Mine did light up until the "norm" light stopped working. I'm assuming its just a bulb at the back of that panel thats gone. I just havnt been bothered to take it apart to check.

I'm the same with my '95 3.1 Mu - it's no longer normal because the light went out. I don't use 'power' because it shifts worse than my grandma Cheers, Graham.
