TonyC from NSW sent me a picture of his MU recently with a few alterations. He will login and tell you the story and hopefully post where it's going to for all those needing parts. J

There I was, stationary in a parking lane but it didn't stop some wally wandering out of their lane with a flat top truck and playing tin openers before flipping himself over. I will post info on location and availability when the wreck is available. I am near Forster NSW. Until this, the car was immaculate; it is a ‘94 auto 3.1tdi (4jg2), auto hubs, turbo timer, almost new AT tyres, recent full auto box service, engine about 185K with no smoke and uses no oil, Hayman Reece tow bar, note in pix that it is the XE model – all bits like bumpers, mirrors etc are chromed. A chap near me has 3 MUs and has shown interest in the wreck so email me if you are considering the whole thing – I am pretty sure it is fully drivable (but illegal for obvious reasons). TonyC

That's a very extreme way to widen the rear guard to fit the bigger tires under!!! Really makes ya mad when you get collected by some other idiot on the road!!! As long as you were unhurt, time to go shopping for another one

Arent you glad you wernt in a Toyota echo With your prices over there are you sure it will be written off. It only looks like a new door, frontand rear gaurd and a small unbending of the B pillar

I don't see the problem, just a broken tail light and you might need to cover the top of that wheel....
It should be written off, have a look at the roof line.
Do you want to sell that rear door opener/handle?? mine got smashed in the hail.

Whats a 94 Mu worth in Aus Im guessing 12000 - 15000 That pays for a lot of panel beating. A car with that much to fix though will never be the same so better to put it out of its misery

Try 8k for a 94 Manual in average/good condition with Snorkle, suspension upgrades etc. The price here has dropped through the floor in the last 12 months.

There's a few ppl trying to sell their MU's on EBAY for over ten g. But none are selling. I got the 3.1 XE in somewhat rough condition, did some fix-ups for still under $5g + rego costs. Engine running strong, it outdoes my brothers 99 Rodeo twin cab and a mates 01 Tritan.
BTW I need a rear headrest, rear window struts and rear door handle also. New tyres wouldn't go astray either.

They are starting to hit NZ costs. Here a 94 mu in average to good condition would be lucky to get 5000. In saying that though I know of a 89 Irmshir R (lwb bighorn with factory flairs) that sold on trademe at 5500. It was spotless and always well maintained. He always showed up at trips with it looking brand new but it never went home that way
