I am in the process of turning my MU into a "convertible" mu by taking the back roof and upright section off ( like the Mu utes ) I have half cut it off but am having problems getting the rear side windows out intact, does anyone know of a way of removing these other than with a hammer?
Also if anyone has any ideas for mods which theyve wanted to try but dont want to ruin their precious daily driver please share these as im more than happy to use mine as a guinea pig so to speak.

I've been wondering how removable that back part was :-) For the windows, does not pulling out the window seal do it ? Maybe you should pop into a windscreen repair centre and see if they have some friendly advise ?
As for "mods to try but to scared" :-) I've been wondering how much a difference having LPG injected into the deisel engine would make ... understand it's not to hard a hack for those with the talent and tools.
Regards.

It is now off and finished so i will post pictures soon, It was really easy to do and looks great so would definately recommend for anyonelooking to do.
As for the LPG, i dont think i will look to do this, I will just stick with diesel I think mainly because i am predomentitly using this for off roading only and dont have any LPG stations nearby.
I am just starting to do a 2" Fuel tank lift.

The roof isnow chopped off and trimmed completely and have sourced the material and made the plans for the rear soft top ( much like the hummer in that it doesn't follow the normal lines of the mu but angles from the roof to the rear tailgate diagonally and is easily rolled up ) This has been inspected by an engineer, and i have been advised that once 2 small plates have been welded in it will be certifiable for road use, costing as follows:
Roof Chop: Nil Welding and plates: $100 Soft top: $200 Miscellanous:$50
Total cost only $350, and to certify another $400, but considering i got quoted $1200 for a soft top alone i think this is a great option.

So are you keeping the back seats? If you are what are you doing about mounts for the seatbelts?
