Hey guys, what do people think of the description of this MU.
"1990 model isuzu mu 2.8l turbo engine same as holden rodeo 5 speed box. black in colour. near new 18"apec racing mags with goodyear eagle tyres, sunroof, sanyo cd player, 6 x9 kingwood speakers, 40 channel uhf. in the last 12 months new windscreen, new alternator, mags & tyes, brake pads &oil change last week. the car was painted approx 8 months ago by a mate who is a spray painter but it was done in my back yard to save me a few bob. car has rego at the moment but will be sold with no rego or safety cet , the car now has a scratch above the drivers side wheel arc thanks to supermarket incident, also needs air con regassing only selling due to now having 5 in the family and this car is a 4 seater would prefer viewing before you bid so you now what your getting"
Let me know what anyone thinks. Cheers, Row

I generaly shy away from anything with new paint. It could be hideing something. Why is he selling without rego and safty cert? 18 inch mags no good off road but this might not be an issue for you

arh i seen this on ebay! if you were anywhere near it, it would definitly be worth looking at!
The aircon won't be a simple "regasing", te system in the mu will are old and will need to be changes over to the new "eviromentally friendly" system, i think it cost me $250with mates rates...
you will need to find out what needs to be done on the vechile to make it road worthy and the power steering resovour doesn't look to have anythig in it. but it would be fair to say i don'tthink that MU has done to many off road stints!
just a few of my observations,

Just another note on the air con, if it doesn't have gas in it now, usually it has leaked out which could be a costly repair. The retrofit as fly3r has pointed out is around 250, but you could be up for a lot more than that, unless you know somebody........ Sounds like they wanted a pimp mobile with the big 18's on it but it does come with a few extras by the looks, how much are they asking?
The reason I ask is that I believe I got mine for a steal, it was also listed on Ebay however I ended up doing a private sale.

Hey I am the one who bought the MU that has been listed.. I flew all the way to QLD from VIC just to get it.. It is the perfect little car. It cost us a little over $160 inc diesel additives to give it a clean out to drive it home and all it needs for a roadworthy certificate is the back shackle rubbers. It is beautiful to ride in and surprisingly enough my partner's 32" mud tyres fit under it. As it is not yet registered I haven't had a chance to play off road or to see how it will pull the 32" tyres. Glad to see I wasn't the only one interested.. Thanks, Nikki

There are bargins out there and this sounds like it was a good deal in the end. Its always hard to assess something you cant see which is why I highlighted the risks of the new paint and no safety cert.
