After a FULL rebiuld of the JB1T (expensive I know), the mechanic says "we're just trying ot get more performance out of it, as we have been told that they are like $hit off a shovel.." huh? I know there are some nice mods, but 110HP + 1.8 Tonnes = 0-100 in what maybe 14 seconds? SO... I am trying ot find a Sydney MU owner that I can oay an hourly rate so the mechnice can see a STANDARD engine bay, in case some hoses are routed incorrectly. Please let me know I never a drove a NEW MU, I know once it's cranking it's great... but would not class it as a performance vehicle. Any thougts or suggestions, what are some timed performance results if you have them. regards, Bob Ryder

There is only one hose you need to worry about, all the rest you can remove!!!
There should be a hose from the inlet cross-over pipe that runs along the rocker cover, next to the thermostat and down to the little diaphragm on the top of the injector pump.
All the other hoses can be romoved, remove the exhaust cross over pipe and blank it off on the ex manifold. Then remove the EGRs and cover the holes. Now all those little vacuum switching valves on the passenger guard can be removed. Should just look like a Rodeo inlet manifold now.
Dont forget to put a stopper over the little vacuum outlet on the vaccuum pump on the alternator or your brake booster will be effected.
Now thats it, there isnt any other hoses etc than can be hooked up incorrectly to effect performance. If that boost limiter isnt connected your performance will be very lacking. The rest is just make sure you are getting boost and adjust the pump for full fuel and thats it!! Oh apart from pump timing??
I would hope your mecchy would know about this or he shouldnt be rebuilding engines!! lol
Goodluck
Matt.
