Hi there,
Is that low-sulphur deisel from Gulf OK to use constantly ? I'm from the UK and it's been standard there for years, but I was wondering if it's OK to feed to a 3.1 1995 Mu ?
Any adjustments need to be made ?
Thanks.

Only issues are it will smoke less and the pump seals might fail. less smoke would be seen by most as no problem and in most cases the seals are not a big job. I enquired at diesel and turbo around a month ago and they reckoned its all hype and we shouldnt have any issues with our pumps and so far theyve heard of no problems but Forest fuels ran an ad in the ccvc newsletter advising everyone to get there pumps done early as they are overhauling as many pumps each day as they used to do each month and parts could run out. Forest are overhauling pumps at $800+, D&T will replace seals in situ if possible at $150 Who do you belive. Most diesel now meets the new 500ppm spec but Gulls will still be lower as its not from Marsden point. In 2006 the spec will be 50ppm so it will be all the same

I have had no issues with the new fuel and have not seen any evidence of problems on club members trucks that I do work on. If you do have any problems price around to get the seals replaced. I know for a fact that Forrest motors are doing a lot of pumps that D&T have priced and Forrest were far cheaper. I have had several sets of injectors done by Forrest motors and their price has always been far cheaper than D&T Just keep an eye open for leaks but you should be fine
Cheers Richard.

If one is worried about these low sulfur fuel ruining the engine, I think there are fuel lubricant or something like that that comes in bottles whereby you just add it into the fuel tank.
