if i were to get 4 new tyres and a wheel alignment, would the wheel alignment involve the free wheeling hubs? apreciate any comments. they are ORA hubs and im beginning to have my doubts about this brand of hub.

The free wheel hubs do not affect wheel alignment unless somthing is horribly wrong. The job of the free wheel hub is to allow a connection between the drive axle and the hub to be connected and disconected. I dont know ora hubs but the factory uses asin hubs

I have just had a set of ORA hubs put on my Bighorn recentely, they seem ok but the mechanic never put the c clips back on the cv's. How long have you been running your hubs?

gudday. i had my mechanic put the ora hubs on prior to christmas 03. they hav had one or two issues.1. they extend out about 30mm past the original hub which looks a bit weird. 2. they let the water in like nothing else. Bit of maintenance.

Bit of maintanance!!! The hub body is open to the wheel bearings so any water in here also gets to the wheel bearings with predictable results.

I've had no end of troubles with water in hubs and bearings. I've found some Aisins and they are going on tomorrow Anyone want some good as new but leak like a bastard superwinch hubs? (super? ). The price of hubs will soon pale in comparison to new bearings every couple of months. I was averaging 3 months per set, and the last one self destructed at 100km/h, with the locktab shreding and the rollers collecting in a mess (acrcoss the axle rather than parallel). Needless to say it kicked to one side a bit. Be wary of that bearing noise, at the very least jack it up regulary and see how tight they are. While I'm in there tomorrow I'm looking at running an air line in with low pressure air off my on board air to try and keep the water out. I may have to remove the CV shafts to drill a hole though, i'm not sure, i'm yet to look.
