DOT 3, DOT 4? Clutch, brake, power steeing... I want to replace it all! I am starting to systematically go through all the servicing requirements for my truck, any tips will be graciously accepted. Any stuff that people commonly miss? I have in my mind that I will do transmission fluid (manual), transfer case and diffs, grease all available nipples that I can find as I do get dirty and wet in my truck... (Hehe, he said nipples, dirty and wet LOL). Anyway, out of the gutter with that one... Any hidden greasing points, recommendations on lubricants, stuff not to over tighten or squeeze an exorbitant amount of grease into? Anything...
Thanks all.

Brake /clutch use dot3 but dot3/4 is ok even though the book says no power steer is atf but you can buy fluids with extra additives for power steer which work ok and come in a more suitable size Engine the best diesel oil you can afford gearbox and transfer case (2 parts) cheap 30/40 oil recomended atf is ok as is VMX or similar. Do not use high quality engine oils as they have friction modifiers that make it very hard to change gear esspecialy when cold Grease nipples All ball joints and all the universals in both driveshafts. Replacement ujoints frequently do not have nipples. Use a good waterproof grease. Wheel bearings messy job same grease diffs. If open diffs hypoid 140 if lsd lsd oil This is ok in open diffs as well but costs more

...Any stuff that people commonly miss?... Grease the smooth shafts of the brake caliper guide and lock bolts (the bolts that the calipers slide on) - it's not listed under routine servicing but rusted-solid shafts have been suffered by many owners.

good point. Use a very high temp grease for this. Rubber grease is good. If the seals are in good condition it only needs doing every couple of years but if not every couple of months

Wow, that's fantastic guys! Top marks on the brake runners too, I always forget this, exactly what I was after! I failed my WOF with my last car based on braking not within 20% Left to Right. All I did was sand and grease up the runners and my machine was a TOTALLY different beast. I might make this priority actually, seeing as you mentioned possible brake binding the other day Geeves, that would totally do it (fluctuating power feelings).
I don't have the time right now, but I will need to come back and ask you to define a couple points in that last post Geeves... Some time in the next couple days anyway. Also looking for a job in Christchurch at the moment, things are tight and really I can't afford to do all this right away (even though I would love to), looks like i'll have to talk my girl into buying me some "presents" LOL
