If I take the the vacuum lines off the EGR valves from the solinoids, will it do any damage/increase or decrease fuel economy/etc ?
I say this as most of the vacuum lines in my engine bay look like the OEM ones from the factory .. and most have perished, or are on their last legs ..

Damage no. economy is a little harder. All the good books say economy should increase but a test done and documented in another post had differing results. If the solenoids are faulty then economy can suffer as can performance. Also consider your local emissions laws before doing this mod. Mine were completly removed before I bought my wagon

Can you take all the vacuum lines out bar the ones to the injector pump and the brake booster?

I dont know what half of them do. Certainly if yours is an auto there could be vacume feeds to that

I might have to do a bit of a hunt around to see where they all go.

I took them all off except the line to the boost compensator on the fuel pump. I dont remember one for the brakes but if there was I must have left that too becuase the brakes are strong. I found half the lines were split anyway.
