greetings to all.. I have a 96 Mu auto trans, i've noticed the tachy needle to be flickering in the morning from a cold start the past few days.. it dips to 200 to 300 rpm erratically with no apparent change in idling nor mis-firing.. i'm thinking of a malfunctioning tachy sensor.. i've checked the diagrams in the manual and it says it's at the injection pump. i've tried looking for it and the only electrical harness i could identify is from the TPS sensor... or is located somewhere else?.. please help... suggestions would be greatly appreciated.. thanks in advance..

Only just recently i ran into the same problem, I was driving upto Thunder Bird Park on the highway doing 110k as you do, then noticed the needle was sitting on 3500rpm which shocked me abit, i thought the engine was in trouble or something. I think i might have some corrosion somewhere which with these (Fudging Coild) mornings we have being having in Caboolture recently might be a contributing factor to mines reading.
