Rodeo Dash mods

my '98 space cab Rodeo is starting to get the treatment.One thing I'd like to do is color co-ordinate all the dash guages, radio/CD/player, heater/air con cotrols. Id prefer not to switch over to LEDs have heard about painting the bulbs with glass paint and theres even little covers that can go over but any other ideas or problems you can think of. Yeah yeah I know it sounds stupid but hey its my ute. OK live with it.

Off the electrical thread but I'll be doing a lot of long distance driving and thinking about replacing the bucket seats any ideas on that. cheers Tony

If possible, don't go blue for the colour. The blue end of the colour spectrum will cause eye fatigue and eye strain issues .. if anything, red is a better colour as it's at the other end of the light spectrum, and is less likely to cause "night blindness" ...
(you all know about using a red light to look at maps and that at night instead of a white light so you can see in the dark better/quicker.. )

Really? i had no idea the red light was better for your eyes at night. Purhaps i should change the LED lights under the dash from blue to red then. Only issue then would be it wouldnt match my Boost Gauge colour =(

On long drives and areas with little/no lighting (ie: highways) at night), the blue light will fatigue your eyes, but if your driving short trips or driving around city/urban/etc areas with decent street lighting, then the blue lighting wont be an issue.

red isnt used much because its the most likly to be invisable to colour blind people. If your happy with blue Why not

OK point taken on the blue but instead of red what about orange I think Hondas and BNW have or had that color.
