Have a few pics of latest bighorn with first stage of development completed. These pics are in 'my pictures' on my comp - does anyone know how I can transfer them right size onto this website?
Thanks Mike.

The pictures need to be hosted on a webspace somewhere .. (most internet accounts these days have some webspace/webpage allowance, usually 5-30 Mb of space, talk to your ISP ..) , but there are also free image hosts out there on the net .. I'll add a few below.. now.. this is the part some people forget or don't know about .. the actually image size .. (skip this if using Photobucket) ... a raw image taken at 5 megapixels, is approx. 3Mb and about 2460 x 1980 pixels in size .. or roughtly 45 x 33 cm in size.. (16 x 12 inches for the old guys) .. You'll want to resize the image down to about 1024 x 786 pixels or smaller before you upload them .. use Paint (in Windows XP/Vista) or Photoshop, or any number of image manipulation software packages out there to resize down.. Or simiply turn your camera's settings down to 1.2 megapixels or lower .. unless your a graphic artist or photojournalist , there is no need to use such a high resolution on your camera .. you'll get more pictures on your memory cards if you turn the settings down too ... Once uploaded to your webspace of choice .. just use [*img]http://www.blahblah.com [*/img] to show an image on this board.. (( remove the *'s)) ie: [*img]http://members.ozemail.com.au/~bennyw/minimu4.jpg[*/img] , take out the *'s gives you .. www.photobucket.com/www.moarpics.com/hugeup.com/uploader.ws/imagevenue.com/www.filebam.com/ I'd link two images.. one at 1.2 megapixels, and one at 7.2 megapixels , but it would break the forum and take most people 2 minutes to down load the 7.2 MP image ( on broadband.. 40+ minutes for dial up users..)

photobucket is good but does look alittle messy with heaps of "bling" i use it for all my photo uploads,
when you log into photobucket there should be a box on screen that says "Upload Images & Video" with a button called "choose files" click choose files, this should bring up a little screen where you can see and select stuff on your computer,
once you get into the folder where your pictures are, in your case you said your "my pictures" folder, it may help to right click in the white space around any file in the window and select "view" then "thumbnails" this will show all pictures in that folder as small pictures, it just makes it easier to find the picture you want rather than by looking for the file name.
once you have selceted the file(s) you want and click "open" it should start uploading the photos to photobucket.
once they are uploaded you should see them on the page, under each of you pictures there are 4 links, Email & Im, direct link, Html code and Img code, clicking on anyone of these will add the code you clicked on to the clipboard, for fourms like this one i would click on the "IMG code" link, then head over to the website/thread you want the picture on and when your ready to add a picture right click and select "paste".
when you post your reply the code you just copyed and pasted here will sort itself out and will show up as a picture.

Hi - had a crack at loading photos following above advice and all good - downloaded photos onto photobucket etc and pressed img code. But when I went to isuzu website and right clicked and pressed paste - all I got was the IMG photo numbers and details, not the actual pics. Any further advice...
Thanks Mike

you wont get the actual picture showing when your writing in your reply, just the code, the picture shows up once you click preview or post, you have done everything right good job you just needed to click post or preview to see the picture

Thanks very much elysian and gecko - followed your instructions and the pics came through. Have a look at "development of latest bighorn" thread. Only thing, I had to click back and forth from photobucket to clubisuzu and download one photo at a time. Great advice - and if I can follow it - anyone can. Good stuff - very helpful.
