Hello everyone, my name is Joe and im in the U.S. I've been trying to find information on an engine I am buying from a friend. So far this is the best place I could find and it seems that there are alot of friendly knowledgeable people here. Ok what I am doing: a friend of mine is selling me the motor and transmission out of an 86 Isuzu trooper turbo diesel for $300USD. At the moment I am also looking for a Chevy S-10 to swap the motor into. i want to get atleast 30mpg with it. Basically I know nothing about the motor, all i know is that its an isuzu turbo diesel. Where can I go to find any and all information about this engine? I know there is a search function and i've used it, but its so time consuming to go through page after page and time is one thing im short on. If anyone can point me in the right direction or even have some advice, it would be great. As soon as i start the build i'll create a post with pics and maybe even some video. But first i want to get all my research out of the way so i run into the least amount of problems. Once again thanks and you guys really have a great site/community!

That will be the C223 wich is the only common small isuzu diesel in USA. Its 2.3 liter and comes in turbo and non turbo version. Dont know a huge amount about these engines or the s10 but from what I can see its the same as the isuzu ute. Its a reliable motor and parts will be available but its also an old engine with all the problems of age. Anouther American owner who has posted here has recently taken a c223 out of a similar truck and fitted the later 4jb1t. Result huge power improvement and about 30% better ecconomy. 30mpg will be possible with your engine. 33mpg if you can get a 4jb1 but expect to pay lots of money for that engine over there and parts could be an issue not that they ever break
