These are Bridgestone traction clamp ons which came with my MU when I got it. There were 2 pcs. It must be for a 30x9.5.15 since it took a lot of muscle to fit into a 31x10.5x15 Unmounted with our best friend Rav (Belgian Terv) Mounted on MU's spare tire Closeup of spikes Bridgestone logo

How well do they work in snow and ice as an alterative to chains?

Great idea, but am wonder how well they would last with continuous use in rough and rocky terrain - logs, sticks, miles of sharp stones etc.. Are they meant to be an alternative to muds or something for occasional use? That is just nylon rope round the sides and can imagine it might take a bit of damage and get torn off in some circumstances,
What cost are they, and what use are they recommended for?

geeves Got no snow in our country mate.. we're tropical here. about 6 months sun and the rest is rain
Mudgrip4 Actually I havent tried them yet though it's design looks it isnt designed for prolonged use. It was inside the Thule like roof luggage carrier I now have on the MU. That carrier was locked when we got it (used from Japan) and actually surprised us when I had a locksmith open it. As for now, its just cosmetics for my spare tire though I'm sure it'll do help if ever we get stuck in mud somewhere up the mountains. I do some telecommunication maintenance work every month.
