Just been playing on the beach and managed to burn out my clutch. Has anybody replaced theirs with anything other than stock? Are there any beefed-up versions available? Where have people got replacements from? I expect the previous 4 weekends negotiating forestry tracks hasn't helped it cause. Good job I was having a change, 100km behind a Safari on tar seal back home is preferable to being helicoptered out of the forest!!! Thanks for any help.

Go and see your local Partmaster shop and ask for a club price on replacement clutch kit - cost me $240 recently including rear main seal and gst. Try repco and any other auto chain outlet also. Always ask for club/trade price. If you don't have a Partmaster shop there post your full model no e.g. UBS 69etc and I check for you up here.

Partmaster quoted me $490 for my UBS69 today. "Standard" replacement kit. ...oh, Repco, etc. $731 !!!!! Got a mate looking into getting an Exedy kit, which is supposedly a tougher clutch. Dismantling tonight!

Got the Exedy clutch kit though a mate, and didn't pay the $713+GST that I was quoted by the retailer! Been off and on at it over the last couple of weeks (managed to put in the lift at teh same time) and tested it out today. Most surprising point was when I changed down from 3rd to 2nd coming upto an intersection and nearly put myself through the windscreen - and that is with my seatbelt on! Boy, it's got some bite now. The forest tomorrow will be the real test.
