OK, my indicator is acting weird .. it doesn't like to work on the left turns.. just ticks really fast (like you got a broken bulb) but the right is fine .. I suspect the contacts are shot or need a clean..
I'll give cleaning them a shot.. but how does one do this ?

When I want to turn left, it will do either :
a: tick really fast and no flashing of the turn lights b: tick/flash outside once or twice normally, then tick really fast and no lights outside c: work normally ..
the right turn stuff works fine .. hazards work fine ..
I thought the indicator relay might be on it's last legs.. but to get to it, I needed to take half of the dash off and take the right side speaker out just to get to it .. but it looks new , or was replaced as it's marked as a honda relay unit ..
So .. how would one get to the indicator assembly to clean the contacts? just remove the bottom cover on the steering column , or do you need to take the steering wheel off ?

Before atacking the indicator assembly try removeing all the bulbs on that side and clean the bulb holders. Corrosion will be the vilan here

Took out the bulbs, looked at the holders.. didn't see any corrosion at all.. they looked like new inside the assemblies.. outside is a different matter.. but the rubber seals/boots/etc are still in one peice, no creaks, nicks, breaks, etc ..
I might see an auto electrician on saturday and see what they say .. it suspect I might just get the whole level assembly replaced with a new one.. but I'll see if the auto sparky can clean them up 1st ..

Try spraying electrical contact cleaner down the indicator stalk into the steering cowling, worked for me. Other than that the relay is pooped

I put in a brand spanking new flasher relay last night .... same thing .. left side still doesn't want to play ..
I'll try some contact cleaner down the stalk .. but I would prefer to physically take the assembly out and clean it that way.. I just don't know how ... lol

sprayed some contact cleaner down the stalk .. doing the same thing .. left doesn't want to work..
I may as well replace it with a new assembly .. the ones from a TF Rodeo are the same/similar ?

I thought about going to an auto electrician for the flasher assembly .. then thought stuff it.. I can do it myself.. anyway .. went to Holden and asked for the assembly .. they didn't have any but it was $578+ GST ( $636.80) ... um no .. ran away quite fast .. lol went to Repco .. $155 ... not that bad .. Looked on eBay .. $78 delivered ..

There is a reason that there are chairs in the parts department at the holden dealer. They are you can sit down before they tell you the price. Before ordering the flasher and indicator switch try shorting the appropriate terminals together at the plug. This will prove switch

well, after trying Alan's advice.. it was the assembly in the steering column..
after 30 mins, $155 for the assembly, $18 for a steering wheel puller, and $9 for a 300mm shifting spanner .. it's all done and in ..
So, the "combination switch" (ie: indication assembly) from a 91 TF Rodeo does fit and work , the only thing is that the lead justs reaches to mate up with the clip in the wiring loom ..

had the same problem on mine about 3 years ago, I took the cover off around the steering wheel and gave it all a good clean out with compressed air the put some electrical cleaner on the circiut board and never faulted since.
