I am also interested in the systems. Although my reasons are purely for power increases. The system I think I'd go for is "eco-shot" : www.ecoshot.com.au/ecoshot.htmlOperates by measuring boost pressure and adjusting the flow of lpg to suit. Was quoted $1700AUD for a full kit (not including tank and shipping from AUS to NZ) Andy.

Hell yes only interested in the power!! Most companies are quoting around 20% gains.....

Haha, good to make the 'suzi's more like mini monster trucks . Where are you from bignuts? If in aus, probably much easier to purchase a system and get it installed. I had a quick look for where I'd put the tank, but with plans for rock sliders mounting to the chassis rails, I couldn't see a place where it wouldn't foul the exhaust, drivetrain or handbrake. Anyone have an idea of where to mount one? Only idea I could come up with was on top on the wheel arch (interior) which would match the other side with the fire extiniguisher, and probably allow a good route for a seperate filler to be installed in the factory filler hatch.

Another company I looked at was www.d-gas.com.au - I think I may have even found some stuff from them on e-bay at one stage. In Oz you qualify for the $2k rebate once installed so the out of pocket is somewhere near $2k all up. If only I travelled enough kms to convince myself it's economic to get all that extra power :-) Have only filled the tank once in the past 3 months. Edit: Almost forgot, I have heard of a diesel rodeo that's been converted - I think it's was through the Penrith outlet of www.dieselgas.com.au. Haven't spoken to him myself however info second hand suggested he's pretty happy.

do a search through this forum. There is a few writeups on home made systems useing bbq bottles. They all seemed to work fine and none raised an eyebrow at warrent time but they would have to be considered dodgy on a legal basis ie fitted by home mechanic not gasfitter, non compliant tank pipework inside the cab etc. The comercial kits installed properly should work fine. The ausi 4wd mag did a revew on one a couple of years back and were impressed both with the extra power and the ecconomy. The catch though useing the prices at the time (nz) meant payback was 30000km

I'd prefer the eco-shot over D-gas...
From what I've read, eco-shot just measures boost, and as the level increases, so does lpg injection. I believe the max. lpg delivery is adjustable via a tap in the engine bay (or where controller is installed).
D-gas's system is much more complex here's a quote from their website: "An electronic control unit (ECU) controls the rate of injection, optimising performance and ensuring safety. Manifold pressure, throttle position, engine temperature, exhaust temperature and engine speed are all monitored. The ECU then adjusts the gas flow depending on engine load and driver demand." "The system can be monitored and adjusted via a laptop if necessary."
The simpler system, would probably be cheaper, and I wouldn't like to have to either get someone to change the settings for me, or have to use software on a laptop myself...

Hey Guys, I am from Auckland.....
I have read and searched heaps of info... and there are new company's starting up all the time.
I am running 33"s and alot extra weight so would like the extra power.
I know of about 5 people running make shift units with bbq bottles and they are all making good gains.
Don't really like the idea of blowing myself up though - not cool.....
And if something happens the insurance issue's and everything.
I am keen on the Eco version (enviromentally friendly... who cares bring on the power)
I was thinking of where to fit the tank as well banging a gas tank around underneath doesn't sound like fun.
Once I have my bofy lift that will give an extra 50mm of space.
I have head that a 20 litre tank will be ok.

20 liter tank wont take up much space and should easily mount to the chassis rail on the right hand side. The tanks are close to 1 cm thick so will outlast your chassis in the tough stuff. Keep the pipework well out of the way tho

Hi Guys, I've been doing a bit of reading through some of your pages, and I thought i'd comment on the LPG Injection for your diesels. I have the D-Gas system installed on my '98 TD Rodeo (with water-to-air intercooler) and it has transformed the vehicle since. Power and torque have increased substancially, Boost pressure increases by 2psi when it's switched on, black smoke is nearly eliminated and diesel usage has dropped also. (It's a little too early to comment on fuel figures yet but I will let you all know). The D-Gas (or eco-gas kit as sold in AU) is Not a fully electronically controlled system, but it regulates LPG entry via a Hobbs (pressure switch). ie: more boost-more LPG. I particularly went for this kit over the others because it injects AFTER the turbo. It's a simple, but very high quality component kit which I think ALL DIESELS SHOULD HAVE!!! The guy who knows more and sells the kit is: Robert Remedi (+61) 412 304030 or 0412 304 030 in Australia. He is really helpful and knowledgeable on his product. or www.eco-gas.com.auI could not stress any more to Definately look into it for your diesel. It cost me $3800 all up, but the Govt. rebate was $2000.....so out of pocket $1800. I am really glad I did it, if only for the power advantage! Cheers

Haven't spoken to him myself however info second hand suggested he's pretty happy. I spoke to Chris from WCAC in Perth for info (he seems to be affiliated somehow with eco-gas???) and he was more than happy to give me details on his install before I committed myself to an LPG install of my own. I think he said it was a '97 Rodeo. He was getting an increase of 16% in power and 20% in torque, with fuel figures like 6L/100km diesel and 1.5L Lpg/100km. I am yet to verify these figures on my own vehicle. But, in saying that- the extra pulling power (just off idle and all the way through the rev range) is really nice! Just my 5 cents worth...

Thanks for the info Aaron, so you would have the 2.8 TD Rodeo? and also what intercooler did you fit?
Cheers Bruce

Yeah Bruce, I have the 2.8 4JB1T Rodeo motor, and I fitted the aftermarket (Barrel Water-to-air Intercooler) from Denco Diesel an Au. It didn't come with a fan, but I will be installing a little 7" to help the offroad cooling.
Cheers, Aaron

Hi Aaron, I am interested in putting a water to air intercooler on my MU (see the thread about nine down here "Engines" water to air intercoolers) My problem is trying to get silicone hoses to fit it, the outlet on the turbo is 1 5/8" and the in and out on the intercooler is 2 1/2. So if anyone knows where I can get these in Aus would be most appreciated.
Cheers Bruce

Cheers Bruce Mate, you can try this site in Au. www.enthaily.com/welcome/page1.phpI bought some clamps from these guys but they sell a good range of silicone hoses/reducers.45'/90' bends etc. Worth a look.... I'll keep searching for you when I get a chance hey....
