There is a guy selling these on E'Bay in Brisbane for $550, this is every thing here is a photo of the core the 350 hp one measures 9"x11"x3.5" farm4.static.flickr.com/3066/2715783431_1989455424.jpgNow I am hoping some one can help me with the vacuum pipe which comes from the barrel (is this called the throttle body) to the injector pump, this guy who is sell them says I should leave this barrel on and plump the core between the turbo and the barrel/body. But the PWR ones replace this barrel/body. So can anyone enlighten me please? The air to air ones I see it plumbed into the case.

I hope that isnt a 'vacuum pipe' - it really should have pressure You need to plumb it into something though - it is connected to your boost compensator, which adjusts your fuel delivery to match the boost, without it you will under-fuel on full boost If you cant find anywhere on the intercooler to fit it you might need to drill & tap something into the inlet manifold to attach it to. It dosnt really matter where it is taken off from - anywhere between the turbo and the inlet valve will do (remember Pascal's law from your high-school physics)

Hi Nig, yep realise its pressure not vacuum, and this guy talking throttle bodies that confused me. Thats good for where to replace it to. And High School what was that .....Pascal's law in physics mate never did physics.....did jungle war fare in an olive drab uniform Cheers Bruce

designed for a petrol engine that has fancy things called throttle bodys and vacumes. Nig is on the money on how to make it work on a diesel. The measurements above give no advantage to an air to air but Im guessing there is a smaller one. One deigned for a 2 to 2.5 liter petrol is adequate for our needs

I have order my intercooler..... so I thought I would take the tube off the intake thingy and unscrew the little pipe!!! it's not screwed in just pushed in so not sure how much pressure they would be? Anyway I am thinking of putting it in where I put the cover over the EGR valve..... so would that work? I will tap another pipe in it though not just pushed in like it is now. The intercooler cost me $585 I have to provide the hoses though. Already have the silicone tubes for each end of the core, the turbo end is a funny size so I will be using a 2 inch to 2.5 inch from the turbo and will cut the tube thats there now and cut it and fit the silicone one over it....hope it works. So if anyone can answer that question for me would be great. Cheers Bruce.

Using the egr plate should work ok. I used a hose in another hose for the blow off valve on the Gemini running 35psi boost it holds on. just use good clamps. Like these

Well the intercooler arrived 7 days from the states after ordering it. I have now got it fitted, by my self to my surprise ;D I have to get a new silicone pipe for the core to the intake manifold, thought it was 3 inch but its 2.75, just using a piece of the old hose under it for the moment. Not sure of how much power increase there is but there is more there for sure. Am going to put it on a dyno over in Gympie in the next couple of weeks, see what we can get out of her Cost of kit plus hoses, brass fitting etc around &750, I am pretty happy. The radiator and fan is probably 5 inch's thick so would not think it would fit behind the drill, mine is behind the bull bar and the piping (3/4 inch) was pretty easy, pump just sits in the pipe line no problems. Well get some photos of it when I can find the camera hahahaha. Any one want anymore info let me know. Cheers Bruce

I've forgotten how to put photos on again, anyway The MU has been put on a dyno, I took it over to Gympie, where I had it done a few years ago thinking that it should read pretty close. Well how wrong I was, after a couple of runs it showed 86 hp at the rear wheels, it showed 87 hp the last time and that was before the exhaust and the intercooler and I know it had heaps more horse power just with the exhaust and now with the intercooler as well. So what is the verdict!!!!! Well now if I give her a little juice on take off I can now light up the MTZs and I only need a very light throttle keeping to the speed limit. The only thing I can think is the MTZs some here has said before that mudders will show less on the dyno. Anyway I don't think there is to many stock new CRD 4bys that will catch me now hahahahah.

Hi mate,
Did they adjust the fuel and boost when they did the dyno or just take a measurement?
Yes MT's really suck the power both on the road and on the dyno.
Give me a call and I will run you though the photos.

Where the radiator and fan are located on my MU would be different to others as my bar is about 4 inch's more forward than standard. But this cooler works brilliantly. Cheers Bruce

Just saw I have two different shoots here the one with the hose (red) going under the intake is the way I now have it, loweres the core so it does not rub on the bonnet.
