Hi all,
I bought a LSD for my MU some time ago And I thought I would put it in today. So all going really smooth for an Isuzu untill I got the diff out of the axle that looks like a LSD. So now it look like I have TWO LSD.
Do Isuzu MU open diff and LSD look the same???
If not who wants to buy a 4.56 LSD?

Should of checked first. either G80 code on the build plate or if you lift both rear wheels with car in neutral and turn on wheel the other should go the same way. Its a pity you cant easily test the diff out of the truck as they do wear out so you could of fitted the best one.

As you've got the lsds out, you could make the best of the situation and tighten the better one up before putting it into truck. A good 4wd shop should be able to do this for you - then add some Redline Heavy Duty Shockproof gear oil and your lsd will do very well for you. If you regularly get water into the diff etc due to lack of extended breather tube - stick with Penrite Limslip - another good product and half the price. Perhaps tighten both and sell one.
Note, being able to spin one rear wheel when the other is still on the ground is not a great test for effective lsds. My latest lsd will turn ok by hand but once warmed up it becomes impossible to move - locks up great.

Front dif on all Mu,Wizard, bighorn after 88 is the 10 bolt Rear is the 12 bolt. They are not interchangeable with each other. The early bighorns had the 10 bolt in the rear and an even smaller diff in the front. If you want a front lsd you need to find a 87 or earlier bighorn with a good lsd first They are not common any more so probably cheaper and easier to fit the auto locker

The instructions are still the same but thats also true for the rear diff in my 1600 toyota carib except you dont have to work up a sweat handling that diff
