Hey All,
Just brought my first MU, Its a 91 2.8, no mods.
Went to start it the day after purchasing it and it wouldn't tick over..
seemed like a battery problem, took the battery out and had it charged from flat to completely charged.
Drove for a couple of days no probs....this morning i went to start it...it wouldn't tick over?
Does this sound like an alternator issue? Has anyone else had this problem?
Cheers Ricardo

Could be many things that can drain the battery ie interier light left on etc. Could also be a bad starter motor or bad battery. If you have a volt meter check the voltage at rest, with the headlights on and while trying to start both before and after chargeing the battery again. Alternators do fail on these esspecialy if used off road. When they fail they also kill the charge relay which stops the alternator warning light working. If you turn the key on to ignition you should get the alternator, oil and brake light on. If this is not the case the charge relay is gone which probably means alternator problems. Once you have it running you should have about 14.5 volts across the battery with the engine doing 2000rpm
