Broken Ball joint

HI,

Thought I'd share this with you. The other day I was driving home frome work slowing down from 100k to 60k and BAM, (I thought i blew a tyre) so pulled off the side of the road and found this!

Since I live a dodge little town it cost me $90 for a new one, where is sydney it would cost $45.

Anyways enjoy the pics, Looks like i got some way wicked racing camber! ;D

ouch. Much other damage ie shock,tyre etc? Any pics of the joint itself and was it original or a replacement in which case what brand? Thats a big joint to break

Sorry I can't remember the brand, it was after market about 10 months old. The only damage was to the rim, The top A-Arm was rubbing on the outside edge of the rim and tyre.
I threw the ball joint out, so no pics of that. I tought I was doing well to break that joint

EDIT: just found the old box, "TRANSTEER" was the brand.

any one got a photo of this ball joint thing that broke in those pictures or what they look like
as i have a funny noise coming from under the front of mine??

Thats the brand that ripco have changed to and sometimes appears in notsocheap. I seem to remember a recal on some toyotas a while ago with a similar ball joint failure. Might stick to 555 and camalot brands in he future

I just got a Balljoint from Repco, its Silverline, a repco brand..cos me $90. (then i find out my sister partner can get my parts at trade... bout $45..) oh well.. i know for next time.

Best price on ball joints is at BNT but dont buy your bearings there. Tonys Autos in Tory st (x Schrodaco) is as good as anyone for bearings
