hi guys...i recently changed tires from my stock 205/r16 to a 235/70/r16...first thing i noticed is a bit sticky and heavier steering...and a little drag as well (or maybe its just me) are these normal? or is the tire too wide for my TFR? inputs would be appreciated!

These tyres are 2cm wider and slightly taller so there will be some effect but not much. What tyre presures are you running and what is a TFR ie is this a Trooper or Amigo lookalike

thanks for the reply...im not sure how much did much pressure did they charge the tire with, should be around 30-32...what's the recommended? TFR is the pickup version of MU ('90s) sporting the 4jb1t engine...
what about the speedo reading? i tried using the tire calculator, and it should be 6% inaccurate (slower)

stress on the steering components will be negligible due to the very small difference made. inflate it to the right tire pressure and you'll have a worry free driving

Ok thats good to hear. what about fuel consumption? Will i be expecting an upward trend or it should be minimal as well? Pardon for all the questions as this was my first time switching to a different tire size as ive always used the 205's since i got my rig...

Re ecconomy 2 parts to this 1 wider tyre will cause more resistance so will use more but I doubt you could measure the amount. 2 speedo and odometer now read 6%low so ecconomy will apear to drop by this amount but its an ilusion It will still use the same amount of fuel to go between tw0 places but speedo will say you got there in 6% less miles
