hi there i have just bought a 3.1 trooper it has just started pissin oil out of the oil cap do i need a new cap?? or it is due for a service soon an is it the oil thinning out also is it worth doin exhaust an are they to loud if you dont put a muffler in ?? and it also seems to be useing a bit of gas the road i drive isnt that economical heapsa corners and mean hills it does need tapets doind an a servise also on cold starts some time mainly when below half a tank it doenst idle very well and conks out

New oil might help but it dont sound hopeful With the engine running does it blow lots of smoke out the filler cap when you remove it. Try this hot and cold. Any vehicle I buy gets a service straight away unless I know when it was last done

what amont of ks has it done yes it pays to have a service if you do not know to much about the truck what is wrong with the muffler you could look at a 2 or 3 in system which might give it more pull power, hope this will help Guy

yea well its done just under 500km but still seems to go real well dnt use any oil doesnt smoke has got a heap of power drivers really nice thats why i bought otherwise i wouldnt have gone near it but yea gta do service soon as its is due now an will see what happens then

Hi who done the service on your truck it looks like that they may have put to much oil in it
have a look on the web there is something about the amont off oil you put in Guy

Check the oil level with the car left overnight on a flat driveway . Level should be between the 2 holes in the dipstick. Not above. 3.1 takes just over 6 liters of oil.
If its coming out the filler cap the only real possibility is that the rubber seal in the cap is faulty. Its a standard cap and after market caps will fit if you cant find a good second hand one. The vented style caps are not suitable for this engine.
It could also be extreme blowby but this would also show in oil consumption and smoke. A compresion test could be in order
