Hi All,
I recently sold my car and have been going crazy looking for a new car. I really want to spend only 5-8 thousand but was very dissapointed with what is available on the market until I came across the MU. I really like the looks of this beast and have decided to own one.
I am located in sydney and my search has only led me to inspect one from car sales. This particular car has 266***kms on it and had an asking price of 6900.
Upon inspecting the vehicle which was a black 2.8 manual the following things were noted. Surface rust on the roof, about 100 paint chips off the bonnet, D/S electric window will not work (although you could hear the motor running), the clutch release point was very high up indicating to me that it needs to be replaced or adjusted.. Also there was a small squeak from the suspension.
Anyway I estimated aroudn $2000 to fix up these problems i.e. paint bonnet and roof, fix window and that Is from what i could tell.
The price was lowered to $5500 hwoever I was not prepared to pay more than $4000. I am unsure if all MU's have a host of unfixed problems although id prefer to pay a little more for a vehicle which has been maintained. I fail to believe how the previous owner could not have attemtped to fix the drivers side window in the year or so he owned it. It seems to me like he has attemtped to fix it but was unsuccesful.
I would really like to have one with a full bull bar and lights and side steps just to save me buying them at a later stage.
Anyway Im still on the lookout for an MU so if anyone has any tips or advice id love to here it. Also if anyone is looking to sell and get out of the MU game im in the market for a nice one.
I will probably go and have a look at the one in canberra next which is advertised in the for sale section. Ill try keep you all updated.
