thanks, that means green light for next weekend with body lift.
My little blue beast resides in Ormond,Victoria> Got it last year with 240000K, so far can't complain, but want to bring it to the next level...
Plans for mods
2" body lift 2" suspension lift( Ironman leaf springs and winding TB/balljoint flip) Sump guard custom intake(air filter box in place of battery) top mount intercooler 2,5" exhaust electic rad fan touch screen with control/alarms for intake and exhaust temp, boost and fans speed and DYNO tuning to make sure my mate (Land Cruiser) can read rear window stickers on my truck
later will have pics before and after with complete list parts/sources
Cheers

With the other mods I would sugest that instead of moving the intake to where the battery is that you consider a snorkel instead. The gains from a short intake are not that great on a diesel and probably completly lost due to the fact that the air on that side of the engine has been heated by the exhaust. Snorkel takes cold air from outside the engine bay and gets the intake high out of any dust and water. You can fit high flow elements inside the airbox either an off the shelf made to fit or with very minor mods fit a pod filter inside the box. If you do decide removeing the battery is the way to go remember its size when finding a new location

Hi mate when i did my 2" BL the only thing i had to modify was my gear stick as it hit the rear side of the tunnel when selecting 2nd and 4th gears so just a slight bend and the gear shift boot can be a bit of a mongral as so stiff. when doing it lift one side at a time and dont tighten all bolts til all is in and straight. cheers Glen

When I did my 2 inch body lift , I undid all the bolts , then lifted the back, hand tightened the bolts , ... then the front, slid the bolts in from the top , and put the other 4 blocks in, then tightened them all up with the air rattle gun..
I actually cut the gear shift levers and added a 2 inch insert .. but as Glen said.. the boot is a PITA ... mine didn't flex enough and pulled off .. lol.. it's been over 2 months and I still haven't fixed the boot yet ..

I bent the lever slightly in a press and then cut a 20mm strip from the south side of the gear lever hole and added the same amount to the front side so the gear lever boot sits slightly further down the tunnel. Seems to work well. No problems changing gears.

I have been given a used lift kit. I not sure what it is off but the spacers are 40mm high and the bolts are 155mm long. 8 all up.
As I read it I need to replace sum bolts with differant ones as they screw into the body. no problem there I hope.
Wot I would really like to know is where kan I get the rasiers for my winchbar and rear bumper and bars??
