Hi all the guy who fixes mu Mu has a friend who has just bought a Mu & it needs the ring-gear replacing, something to do with the flexplate???

(he know what he's talking about but i dont....)

so he wants to know how long should he tell this guy it will take to do , he has a hoist, all the tools & is a top mechanic its just as he has never done one on a Mu before

any help would be good thanks

Clutch in a manual takes 4 to 5 hours Auto should be similar Its easier to drop the auto than lift the engine bur remember very heavy From memory I sent you a disc of the manuals a while ago You might want to give him a copy.
Very unusual for ring gear to fail on any modern vehicle Pre engaged starters fixed that problem for good unlike old cortinas with inertia starters that frequently only half engaged chewing the teeth
