Shockproof is a full synthetic lsd oil and very expensive. I think mudgrip is the only person to use it and even he changed to a cheaper oil after getting water in it a few times. The clutches do wear out with time but can be adjusted or replaced by a diff specialist. You can break them just like any diff if you abuse it enough but they are very strong. What are your symptoms. If its a slight judder turning at low speed thats not unusual You can get a diff additive to reduce this but noone bothers

I've been using it for over a year now, put it straight in when I did my diff swap to LSD.
I remember it was bloody expensive, and for the performance it gave me, I would either put a locker in or get the diff tightend up and use normal LSD oil.
I do get clicking/clunking/wheel lock up on tight corners too.
Cheers, Andy :-) .

Redline heavy duty shockproof is great in standard diffs - not needed so much in tightened ones. You can get it at B&T at club price of $44 incl for 2 900mm bottles - enough for isuzu diff.
Have put some in my new trucks lsd and it works a treat, but if you want to save a few dollars get penrite limslip - also good at near half the price. Get the heavier duty limslip - there are two.
Your symptoms of clunking etc on tight corners sound normal.

"BNT" consult your yellow pages Before blameing your diff have a very close look at the ujoints in your driveshaft. any movement is bad. Your symptoms are more like driveshaft probs

I gave them a ring and they said $28 a bottle but I didnt say anything about the club.

I had a really really good look today and have found the problem. It's the transmission mount it is soft and sagging. It hits on the inside of the transmission mount itself and the end transfercase skidplate (chiped a bit off the transfercase) and allso has abit of movement while driveing. So I think I will get a NEW mount. I have tryed Repco but they only do engine mounts so that was no help. So were do I get the mount from thats not going to cost me the world (holden lol ) ?? kane

Looks nothing like it. Have you tried pricing one at Holden? I tried to do mine about 2 years ago. They found one in the book under Jackeroo Diesel but the upper studs were about 6mm out of place making it useless. Luckily I found my prob was really an engine mount.

Holden - sorry didn't read yr above post properly - you mentioned $28 for a bottle of heavy duty shockproof. If that is the 900ml bottle which I last bought it in, then it's dear. Club price here in cantab is $44 for two 900ml bottles incl gst - or $22 per bottle. = 900ml not quart 1200ml bottles here.
Cheers Mike.

So is it worth using the Redline or stay with Penrite like I'm using?
Is Redline OK for LSDs - it doesn't mention anything on the bottle about suitable for LSD?
Holden - according to my Holden/Isuzu dealer mechanic mate Isuzu LSDs last about 150,000km. The clutch packs don't seem to be available as an Isuzu part (may be able to buy after market ones) but you can buy a complete new LSD centre.

Redline is good in lsds - used alot in racing car lsds also. It is the best option but if you can't get it at good price or are likely to be regularly getting water in diff, penrite limslip is good. Ran well in my lsd.
