Hi there people im going to need new tyres soon and would like to know what you guys are using and what you think of them ive only ever have BFG ats which were good i thought and then i got maxxies buckshots which where better probably only because i was going from an AT to a mud tyre and went bigger also so i was thinking about the maxxies bighorn because they have side lugs to help bite in the ruts and help from getting cut up like the buckshots did! Also the maxxies are good price but if too many people say they are shite il spend a bit more so what are you running??? Thanks Mike

Bridgestone Desert Dueler 604V , Japanese made version (basically an AT, the Jap version more open block pattern than the aussie made 604V, and has silica in the compound , a lot more quieter on the road ) , last set I had did close to 100,000 km (40k of that was my own use, the other 60k were previous owners here in Oz and Japan)and still had 4-5mm of tread left .. had to change them as the compound was starting to harden/breakdown..
size wise .. 31x10.5R15 on the factory(?)15x7JJ rims..

At the moment the best value for money is the Nanking Mudstar which is coming in very close to 200 for a 32 inch tyre. I like the look of the Maxis bighorn Should be excellent in mud and clay but cant see them lasting too well on the road. That why I have 3 sets of tyres. If you want some tyres that noone else has go and see Rob at Naenae Tyre Court He has imported some Bulldog tyres which seem to go very well but aint cheap. He can also do a good deal on Maxis and Nanking etc. PS due to the falling dollar all tyre prices have gone up a little bit. Im having to pay 20 more for a spare to go with some bought only 2 months ago.

I run Super Swamper SSR 32", for about 25 k kms, very capable offroader, more than a half thread left! Ice and snow traction is very good for mud tire. weight is the major disadvantage

Hi mate i have had some sava rv a/t's in 31x10.5x15 as an a/t they were good open block design went well on road and off and quiet on black top. i now have a set of goodyear wrangler mtr's in 31x10.5x15 and they are great a bit of noise but really great grip and quite big side biters got them as a mate has em on his runner and has done 40,000k and still 1/3 tread left and it cops a lot of work rock crawling etc... mine cost bout 250 each but have gone up in price since. cheers Glen.

I'm running with 31" Maxis Roadstar AT for on road and 33" Maxis BIGHORNS off road. They actually really quiet on the road but they are still pretty new, once mud tyres wear down to half way, thats when the you start getting the load tyre noises.
I love the look of the new silverstone sport MT117 and not a bad price too.
