can anyone tell me if there's so such thing as getting your turbo seviced. i have a 96 rodeo 2.8 turbo diesel. had it for 5 years and i doesn't have the pick up it used to. i know it could be the injectors but they were replaced not long before i bought it

96 is probably the non repairable turbo The turbos themselves cant be serviced but in most cases can be repaired if they fail except in the case of the turbos used by Isuzu from 92 to 98 These can only be replaced. When the turbo fails you get a warning of a squeal on shut down which can continue anything from one week to one and a half years. In your case though Its unlikely to be the turbo as it would have no guts at all. It is more likely the pump or wastegate needs adjusting

If its making a short whistle when you turn off the motor start saving for a new turbo. When it dies it will either seize causing a big loss of power or a seal will go causing a big cloud. Then replace the turbo. If you have any other issues any diesel specialist can service all the waste gate etc but there's nothing to do to the actual turbo

I suspect my turbo could be in it's way out .. I get a "squeal" like a belt slipping when I down shift .. more noticeable with high revs.. ie: going from 3rd to 2nd , 2500rpm(3rd) to 2800-2900rpm(2nd).. etc..
then again.. it could be something else..

Doesnt sound like turbo but hard to tell. Is this changing down to slow or accelerate? does it do it at full load in one gear. Other possibles belts, leaking inlet manifold, thrust bearing in clutch, gearbox

Cold possibly be a crack on a manifold somewhere, or a gasket around the exhaust side is leaking? ??
